Wingecarribee Shire Council is reminding residents that the opportunity to comment on its draft Animal Shelter Euthanasia Policy closes at the end of the month.

The document details Council’s minimal euthanasia guidelines applying to both companion and feral animals.

The policy was placed on exhibition after Councillors endorsed the draft document at its meeting on Wednesday 11 September 2013. The draft policy has been on exhibition since Monday 16 September and the extended exhibition period now coincides with the closing date for public submissions.

A copy of the Council report and draft policy can be viewed on Council’s website at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au under the ‘What’s On Exhibition’ link or at Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre and at Council’s libraries.

Submissions and feedback can be made in writing via email, fax or letter and must be received by 4.00pm on Monday 28 October 2013.

Written submissions should be referenced ‘Wingecarribee Animal Shelter Euthanasia Policy’ and should be posted to Wingecarribee Shire Council, PO Box 141, Moss Vale 2577, faxed to (02) 4869 1203, or via email to wscmail@wsc.nsw.gov.au.
