Time for a heart-warming pie to take the edge off the Winter chill?

Dozens of local pie experiences are among ‘100 ways to enjoy 92 days of Winter in the Southern Highlands’ being promoted as part of a Winter’s Wonderful campaign. Created by our Tourism and Events Team to inspire visitors to stay longer and enjoy more of our local retail, stays and food and wine culture.

Destination experiences unique to our Shire are in demand. Hidden-away walks through our magnificent gardens and spectacular natural landscapes, savouring a local whiskey or cool climate red by a roaring woodfire, and of course food adventure, from exploring local farmgates to Take-Me-Home Pie Experiences.

“With so many varied experiences available to visitors, found only here in the Southern Highlands, our guests have more reason to extend their stay with us and discover all the region has to offer,” says Charles Adams – General Manager Berida Hotel.

The finest flaky-pastry pies to be found around town, in Bowral, Mittagong and Moss Vale, as well as across our many villages, have been made easy to get your hands on by a comprehensive list of Take-Me-Home Pie Experiences.

With a great variety to choose from, you could try a different pie every day of Winter.

Just a few of the local favourites include the multi-award winning selection at Bowral’s Gumnut Patisserie, 44 varieties at Samuel Gee Pies and Pastries in Mittagong, hearty artisan pies at Baked in Berrima, special Winter fillings at Sonoma, the Wagyu house special at Farm Club Australia, luscious lemon meringue at Centennial Vineyards and baked berry pie at Cherry Tree Hill Wines, puffy golden beef cheek pie at The Briars Inn in Burradoo and slow cooked Beef Bourguignon at The Mill Café.
