Wingecarribee Shire Council has placed on public exhibition a number of revised policies relating to ethical behaviour after endorsement at its meeting of the 24 October 2018.

The three revised policies endorsed by Council include a Fraud and Corruption Control Policy, Public Interest Disclosures Policy and Gifts and Benefits Policy. The policies cover the actions taken by all public officials including Council staff, Councillors, consultants and contractors.

The Polices provide clear direction in relation to Council’s zero tolerance position on fraudulent and corrupt conduct. The Policies also outline a comprehensive reporting framework in place to provide protection for individuals who report suspected wrong-doing.

The revised policies take into consideration best practice guidance released by the NSW Audit Office, NSW Ombudsman and the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

To view a copy of the revised policies visit www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/development/whats-on-public-exhibition or view in person at Council’s Civic Centre located at 68 Elizabeth Street in Moss Vale.

Submissions can be made online or in writing addressed to the Wingecarribee Shire Council, PO Box 141 Moss Vale 2577 or alternatively by email at mail@wsc.nsw.gov.au and should include a reference to the applicable Policy.

Submissions and feedback close at 4.30pm on Friday 23 November 2018.

Following the close of the exhibition period, a final report considering submissions on each revised Policy will be presented to Council.
