Preparations are underway as Wingecarribee Shire Council gears up for the sixtieth anniversary of NSW Seniors Festival.

The festival will run from Wednesday April 4 to Sunday April 15 2018.

Council’s Ageing and Disability Officer Nicola Robson explained that NSW Seniors Festival provides an opportunity to celebrate the value that older people bring to our region.

“Seniors Festival is a fantastic way to connect with and appreciate older people in our local community,” she said.

The theme of the 12 day festival is Let’s Do More Together.

More than 1,000 free or discounted events will be held across the State during next year’s festival.

“The 2018 festival aims to inspire all seniors regardless of their age or ability,” Ms Robson said.

Community and commercial organisations are being encouraged to celebrate the contribution seniors make by holding an event or participating in an activity during the festival period.

Event details will be included in the Council Program of Events and online at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/seniors-festival.
