New Mobile Community Recycling Centre set to collect and dispose of waste in your Village

Wingecarribee Shire Council is rolling out a new Mobile Community Recycling Centre (MCRC) to visit the major villages in our Shire. It will collect all sorts of problem waste and dispose of it sustainably and in an environmentally conscious way.

From Welby to Bundanoon, Colo Vale to Exeter, Penrose to Burrawang – we’ve all got hard to get rid of waste for disposal, that tends to remain dormant in our households, so the mobile service will be a great asset for our communities.

The mobile unit is free of charge to utilise. It will be on the road travelling to designated site locations at the main villages from 6 March 2024, starting at Hill Top, and wrap up at Wingello on 24 July 2024 to help dispose of our recyclable rubbish.

Targeted items for collection include:

  • Small household and automotive batteries
  • Waste oils
  • Smoke alarms
  • Cardboard
  • Styrofoam
  • Fluorescent lights
  • X-rays
  • Mobile phones
  • Writing instruments
  • Empty gas bottles
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Ink cartridges

Council is proud to offer this new MCRC as a convenient and accessible solution for problem waste disposal in the Wingecarribee Shire region. By collecting and disposing of various problem waste items, it promotes environmental sustainability and responsible waste management practices.

Council will confirm and book the locations. All residents need to do is check the collection locations and dates on our website and be ready with their waste for collection on the day.

The service follows strict protocol guidelines from EPA NSW, and hazards and risks associated with the activities undertaken for the project are being fully risk assessed, monitored and managed.

Waste collection dates in your area, with pick up from 8.45 am – 12.30pm at all locations:
