Wingecarribee Public Libraries will host their fifth annual HSC Night Shift study lock-in on Monday 10 October at Bowral Library to help students prepare for their final exams.

Year 12 students will have exclusive after-hours access to the library from 6.30pm until the lock-in concludes at 10pm.

Council’s Children’s and Youth Librarian Trudy Eccleston said the popular event offered an opportunity for students to change up their study routine and take advantage of library staff expertise.

“Libraries are a perfect environment for study,” she said.  “Some students find that they need some time out from studying at home, others might find the group study environment helps them to focus.”

Students can come with a group of friends or individually. The library will have free internet access, refreshments and library staff on hand to help locate study resources.

For those who might need an extra pick-me-up through the night, bring along $5 for pizza.

“Feedback from past events has been overwhelmingly positive with students commenting that the session provides a quieter and less stressful environment for studying,” added Ms Eccleston.

Wingecarribee Public Libraries are committed to helping local young people with a range of study events, including the HSC English Area of Study seminar earlier this year, and resources available throughout the year. There is a dedicated section for young people at www.library.wsc.nsw.gov.au.

Limited places are available for this free event. Book online at www.hsclockin.eventbrite.com.au.

Bowral library is located on Bendooley Street, Bowral.
