If you’ve ever wondered what happens to your waste and recycling when it leaves your kerb, February’s site tour of Council’s Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) will leave you guessing no more.

“We actually receive lots of enquiries from people asking what happens to their waste and recycling after our trucks pick them up,” said Council’s Waste Education Projects Officer Esther Landells.

“This site tour provides a behind the scenes look at the processes that go into managing the Shire’s waste and recycling and will hopefully go some way to dispelling any mystery.”

As part of the RRC Site Tour guests will learn how Council manages industrial and domestic waste including green waste.

“Visitors will see how we sort, recycle and reuse much of the material we receive and they’ll also have the opportunity to see inside our brand new Community Recycling Centre,” Ms Landells added.

The RRC Site Tour will be held on Thursday 11 February from 9am to 10am onsite at the Resource Recovery Centre.

Numbers are strictly limited and bookings are essential.
