Australia Day 2024

Share in the community spirit of celebrating Australia Day 2024, Southern Highlands-style, in picturesque Berrima Village. There’ll be market stalls, kids activities, live music and more! Find out who our community has nominated for Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year at the 9am Citizenship Ceremony. Cheer on the Grand Parade at midday, then enjoy the great food, family fun and special offers from local venues and retailers.

Wingecarribee’s Young Citizen and Citizen of the Year will also be announced. Community members have this year nominated some remarkable residents, in recognition of their unique contribution to our Shire.

You’ll meet our Australia Day Ambassador Robina Beard, an Aussie icon who became a household name as Madge the Manicurist in the Palmolive dishwashing liquid ‘you’re soaking in it’ campaign.

At noon, cheer on the Grand Parade down the main street of Berrima. Among the many joining the march will be the Highlands Pipes and Drums Band and The First Australian Light Horse Brigade. Check out the many classic cars rolling into Berrima Village for the occasion, joining local associations in bringing a festival feel to the day.

The heritage streets will be abuzz with live entertainment and local retailers and venues embracing the day with special offers.

From 9am until 3pm, share in the fun at Marketplace Park where there’ll be activities, rides and face painting for the kids, great local food and market stalls to browse. Pack the picnic blanket for an enjoyable day out together.

Another great village event, connecting our community with the support of Wingecarribee Shire Council. Berrima is the place to be this Australia Day.
