Additional recycling pick-ups over the Christmas period

Is your whole family coming for Christmas? The more the merrier….and messier! In the spirit of the festive season, we’ve scheduled additional recycling services over the Christmas period for your convenience. You can expect us to collect weekly, from the 18th of December 2023. So you can look forward to a cleaner household for enjoying holiday time together.

Weekly recycling collections will continue until 12th January, 2024.

Our hope is to help take the pressure of during a busy time for entertaining, while promoting a healthier local environment, by making the handling of your household waste as efortless as possible.

We’ve gone one step further, by expanding the range of waste we’ll accept at our Resource Recovery Centre this Christmas. We’re equipped to handle all manner of problem waste that may be harmful to you and the environment if not disposed of responsibly. Drop-of those mountains of Christmas gift wrap and cardboard packaging, polystyrene and clear plastic wrapping, and prevent your yellow bin from overfowing.

Remember, never discard batteries in any of your kerbside bins. These need to be responsibly disposed of by dropping them of at a collection facility such as our Resource Recovery Centre. Tape the battery terminals to prevent fres as batteries are collected and processed.

Together, we can cut-back the cost to the environment of excessive holiday waste. Simply by disposing of it thoughtfully.

Let’s all do our part to make this Christmas in Wingecarribee a little greener by taking advantage of these holiday recycling services. Regular opening hours will continue at Council’s Resource Recovery Centre throughout the holiday season, with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
