Wingecarribee Shire Council is inviting members of the community to attend a series of workshops designed to help develop the Shire’s Street Tree Master Plan.

Council’s Coordinator of Open Spaces, Greg Bray explained the purpose of the workshops.

“The aim of the Street Tree Master Plan is to ensure the leafy character of our Shire is preserved and enhanced well into the future,” he said.

“This Master Plan provides a comprehensive strategy for the management of the region’s street trees.”

In developing the Street Tree Master Plan Council will be conducting an online survey and hosting a series of workshops across the Shire between Monday 17 August and Tuesday 25 August 2015.

For the full list of dates and venues visit Council’s dedicated community engagement website at: www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au.

The free workshops will feature displays, maps and interactive activities with Council officers on hand to answer questions.

“This project is an opportunity for residents to provide input into a plan that is designed to preserve and promote the beautiful tree-lined streetscape which our Shire is renowned for,” Mr Bray added.

“It will also ensure future generations can enjoy these wonderful specimens as much as we do.”

Residents wishing to take part in the workshops are asked to confirm their attendance prior by registering online at the Your Say website.
