The Moss Vale War Memorial Aquatic Centre is looking for participants to join them for a new children’s fitness program called Go4Fun.

Go4Fun is a State Government healthy living initiative for kids above a healthy weight.

Moss Vale War Memorial Aquatic Centre Manager Tony Wrightson explained the concept.

“Go4Fun has been specifically developed to help children aged between 7 and 13 and their families to adopt a long-lasting healthy lifestyle,” he said.

“It’s been designed to be interactive and help focus on the key areas of eating habits, fitness, teamwork and overall health.”

The Aquatic Centre is looking at hosting the free program in line with the fourth school term starting in October.

“We’re proposing to run it every Monday evening for two hours from 4pm to 6pm,” Mr Wrightson said.

The ten-week program has been designed by pediatric nutritionists and will be led by qualified health professionals.

As part of the program, a parent or guardian attends with the child and together the children and their families learn healthy lifestyle and eating habits.

“Apart from becoming fitter, healthier and meeting new friends, Go4Fun promises to be a lot of fun!” Mr Wrightson added.
