Council kicks off annual Summer Clean Up
Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Resource Recovery Centre has this week commenced its annual Shire-wide Summer Clean Up in Mittagong and Welby.
The Clean Up is available to all current domestic Council waste service users and is operated on a pre-book and pre-paid basis.
Old furniture, dismantled white goods (de-gassed fridges and freezers), metals for recycling, sawn timber off-cuts, wrapped glass and mirrors, broken toys, old cutlery and crockery, disassembled swing sets and flower pots are just some of the items that can be disposed of.
However not all items can be included and old televisions and computer monitors, household waste like food scraps, green waste, domestic recycling, demolition materials and builder’s rubble, chemicals and poisons, oil, gas bottles, car tyres and batteries or vehicle engines are some of the non-permissible items. Collections cannot exceed two cubic metres and all items left for collection must be able to be handled by a maximum of two people.
All items for collection must be left out on the Sunday before the scheduled collection week.
Bookings and payments can be made up to the week before the start of collections. Payments in cash can be made at Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre.
Cheques and credit cards are also accepted.
A flat rate of $77.00 with a 1% surcharge for credit cards applies for each collection.
