Balmoral launch of Our Village Our Future Pilot Project
Over the past twelve months Wingecarribee Shire Council has piloted the Our Village Our Future project in the villages of Balmoral and Wingello.
The project is designed to bring communities in small towns together to build skills, share resources and help plan for their future.
The project harnesses the passion, strengths, knowledge, interest and commitment of the community and works with them to confirm a vision for their village and to develop a plan to achieve this vision.
This plan will then be used for village activities and monitored by interested community members.
Throughout 2012 and 2013 the staff in the Strategic and Assets Branch of Council have been working with both the Balmoral Village and Wingello Village Associations and their respective communities to research and develop these plans.
The Balmoral Village Action Plan will be launched on Saturday 16 March 2013 at the Balmoral Village Hall at 5pm.
The event will include the official launch, a community BBQ and a pre-St Patrick’s Day celebration for the community.
