29 March, 2012

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as part of its ongoing road maintenance program, road works are scheduled to commence onRailway Road in Burradoo starting Monday 2 April 2012.

The construction works will be undertaken in Railway Road just before the Wingecarribee River.

Works will involve the construction of a turning bay to allow school buses to turn around at the end of Railway Road. Also included in the works will be the construction of a small car park adjacent to the turning bay to service the Bong Bong Shared Pathway and proposed fishing platform.

Initial work will involve site preparation followed by excavation and construction of the road surface.

During the construction period, the end of Railway Road will be closed during normal work hours. This will affect both northbound and southbound traffic. Local traffic will be provided access through the job site. Traffic controllers will be onsite to manage traffic as required.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.
