Wingecarribee Shire Council has this week launched the 2014 Wingecarribee Community Assistance Scheme.

Under the scheme, Council distributes up to $120,000 to assist local not-for-profit organisations across the Shire.

Monies can be sought to fund programs, equipment or capital works which aim to establish, improve or enhance cultural, sporting, welfare, health promotion, community development or leisure services.

Some of the 49 projects receiving funding last year included capital works and upgrades to Scout and Girl Guides halls, community events, sheet music, sporting equipment, youth performances, wheel chairs and many others. Projects funded ranged from $400 to just over $7,000.

Under the scheme two types of funding are available, donations up to $500 and grants up to $7000 for specific purposes.

Applicants can access the 2014 Guidelines and submit their applications online from Council’s website at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/services/community/grants-and-funding-opportunities/wingecarribee-community-assistance-scheme
