Wingecarribee Shire Council has today launched the 2016 Wingecarribee Community Assistance Scheme.

Under the scheme, this year Council will distribute up to $130,000 to assist local not-for-profit organisations across the Shire.

Monies can be sought to fund programs, equipment or capital works which aim to establish, improve or enhance cultural, sporting, welfare, health promotion, community development or leisure services.

Returning for 2016 is the allocation of $10,000 for environmental and sustainable specific programs. This new segment is provided by the Environment Levy.

Some of the 51 projects receiving funding last year included the purchase of equipment for sporting groups, fit out for an amenities block at the Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens, domestic violence alert training for Lifeline Macarthur, volunteer equipment for Wingecarribee Food Services and printing of materials for the Berrima River Walk.

Under the scheme three types of funding are available, donations up to $500, environmental grants up to $2,000 and general grants up to $7,000.

This year all applications for donations and grants must be submitted online.envi
