Wingecarribee Shire Council has this week launched the 2015 Wingecarribee Community Assistance Scheme.

Under the scheme, this year Council will distribute up to $130,000 to assist local not-for-profit organisations across the Shire.

Monies can be sought to fund programs, equipment or capital works which aim to establish, improve or enhance cultural, sporting, welfare, health promotion, community development or leisure services.

New for 2015 is the allocation of $10,000 for environmental and sustainable specific programs. This new segment is provided by the Environment Levy.

Some of the 53 projects receiving funding last year included the purchase of musical instruments and clubhouse furniture, a dedicated camp for parents and children with autism and capital works and upgrades to community buildings.

Under the scheme three types of funding are available, donations up to $500, environmental grants up to $2,000 and general grants up to $7,000.

This year all applications for donations and grants must be submitted online.

Applicants can access the 2015 Guidelines and submit their applications online from Council’s website at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/wingecarribee-community-assistance-scheme

The Wingecarribee Community Assistance Scheme closes at 5.00pm on Friday 31 March 2015.
