Traffic and parking changes at Bong Bong Common

21 June, 2021

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that construction works are scheduled to commence at the Bong Bong Common in Burradoo from Monday 28 June 2021.

The car park and shared pathway access located off Moss Vale Road will be temporarily closed during construction.  Weather permitting it is anticipated that the temporary closure will be in place for approximately four months.

Upgrade works are being undertaken as part of stage one of the Bong Bong Common Masterplan and include:

Construction of an asphalt carpark accommodating 20 cars plus two disabled parking spaces;

  • Removal of approximately 20 pine trees and replacement planting with exotic and native vegetation;
  • Relocation of the historic obelisk; and
  • Installation of interpretive and wayfinding signage and maps.

Alternative access to the shared pathway will be available from:

  • Suttor Road, Moss Vale;
  • Phillip Street, Burradoo;
  • Hurlingham Avenue, Burradoo; and
  • Railway Road, Burradoo.

Access to the Cecil Hoskins Nature Reserve will be made adjacent to the work site.

Motorists and pedestrians are cautioned to exercise care and be aware of heavy machinery within the work area.

Council thanks visitors in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary inconvenience.
