Stormwater drainage upgrade for Old South Road Bowral

23 September, 2016

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as a part of its regular capital works program, stormwater drainage upgrade works are scheduled to commence on Old South Road from 26 September 2016.

These upgrades will be undertaken between Retford Road and Derby Street adjacent to 81 Old South Road, Bowral.

Works will involve removing and replacing the existing pipes under Old South Road and upgrading the existing stormwater pits on either side of the road.

Old South Road will remain open to through traffic for the majority of works.  Detours will only be implemented when critical and to enable work to be carried out with minimum disruption.  These detours will guide traffic via Ascot Road, Purcell and Derby Streets.  Existing bus schedules will be unaffected.

Signage will be erected advising motorists of the changes and traffic controllers will be stationed onsite during construction.

Affected property owners have been notified of the works and restricted access will be made available to these residents.

Some minor delays may be experienced.

Road users and pedestrians are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work area.

Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

Weather permitting, work should be completed by mid-October 2016.
