Station Street Renewal project nears completion

16 May, 2023

The Station Street Renewal Project has reached its final milestone with line marking scheduled to take place tonight, Tuesday 16 May 2023.

Line marking will take place on the newly sealed section of road between Bundaroo and Boolwey Streets, and in the commuter car park at Bowral Train Station.

Some delays can be expected while the road is closed so that works can be completed, weather permitting. The closure will be in place from 6 pm on Tuesday 16 May to 4 am on Wednesday 17 May.

For your safety and that of our workers, please slow down and follow the direction of traffic controllers stationed on site.

Council’s Director Service and Project Delivery, Karin Targa, says this is an important project milestone.

“We appreciate that renewal works have been ongoing for some time and thank the community for their patience and understanding,” she said. “The newly sealed road and associated improvements will help improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow in and around Bowral Town Centre.”

Work on the Station Street Renewal began in April 2022 and along with the road reconstruction, includes:

  • Drainage improvements
  • Installation of a new water main between Boolwey and Merrigang Streets
  • Restoration and conservation of the heritage Camellia Garden
  • Kerb and gutter, car parking, lighting, and footpath improvements.

The commuter carpark will reopen on Monday 22 May 2023.
