Station Street pavement works set to start 4 October

30 September, 2022

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that road pavement rehabilitation works are scheduled to commence on Station Street in Bowral from Tuesday 4 October 2022.

Works will be undertaken by Council contractor’s and commence at the intersection of Station and Merrigang Streets and progressively move south.

Similar to the previously completed drilling undertaken to install new watermains, some of the works may be undertaken after hours to minimise disruption to traffic and nearby businesses.

Traffic controllers will be stationed on-site to manage traffic where necessary and some temporary detours may be installed.  Pedestrian access will be unaffected.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic arrangements, exercise care when travelling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery in the area.

The rehabilitation works follow recent interim pavement construction undertaken on Station Street to rectify the impact of below ground water main installation and connection works.  This stage of works is nearing completion and involves the use of an asphalt cold-mix to temporarily repair any defects left in the road following the use of heavy-duty drilling equipment.

A full bitumen seal of the road will be undertaken towards the end of the renewal project once all above and below ground critical infrastructure improvements are completed.

Council thanks residents, business owners and motorists in advance for their cooperation, and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.
