Roadwork to commence in Balmoral area
Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as part of its ongoing road maintenance program, rehabilitation works are scheduled for the Balmoral area starting Monday 10 October.
- Works will include an extension of the seal in River Road, from Amy Street to William Street, as well as maintenance grading in:
- Amy Street from River Road to the end
- William Street from River Road to Harry Street
- Victoria Street from River Road to the end
- Railway Parade from Wilson Drive to River Road
- Railway Parade from end of bitumen to Wilson Drive
The works will be carried out by Wollondilly Shire Council as part of the Strategic Alliance between Wingecarribee and Wollondilly Councils. The arrangements between the Councils are defined in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which is designed to best utilise available resources, skills and knowledge within local government.
Wingecarribee Shire’s three road grading crews are fully committed for road maintenance and construction projects within this Shire, and it would be a number of months before our own crews could undertake the work in Balmoral village.
It is fortunate that Wollondilly Shire’s own works program had some flexibility in the short term which allows them to provide these services, enabling a more timely response to the needs of Balmoral residents.
Road users are cautioned to follow the direction of signage or traffic control officers and exercise care when travelling through worksites. You should also be prepared for heavy machinery and trucks to be in the area.
We appreciate your patience during these road improvement works. Staff will make every effort to minimize disruptions however it is inevitable that some delays or inconvenience may occur.
Please contact Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Operations Section on 4860 3028 for any further information or assistance.
