Road re-sealing works scheduled for Bowral

19 October, 2011

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as part of its annual bitumen re-sealing program, road works are scheduled to take place on several roads within the Bowral area commencing Wednesday 19 October 2011.

Council contractors will undertake the work in the following areas:

  • Wingecarribee Street between Boolwey and Short Streets,
  • Short Street – entire length,
  • Bowral Street between Sheffield Street and Old South Road.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by Wednesday 26 October.

Note: Sealing operations are dependant on favourable weather conditions and the above schedule may subsequently change with the onset of inclement weather conditions.

Changed Traffic Conditions:

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Traffic controllers will be onsite to manage traffic during the works with speed restrictions of 40kph enforceable (24 hours) during the construction period.

Speed restrictions shall remain in place until all loose material has been swept from the sealed surface and on street parking will not be permitted during bitumen spraying operations.

During the works motorists may experience short delays and are advised to use alternate routes where possible.

Council asks the public to exercise patience during this period and will make every effort to minimise disruptions.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.
