Reconstruction of Bendooley Street, Bowral

17 May, 2016

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as a part of the reconstruction of Bendooley Street in Bowral, a number of streets surrounding and including Bendooley Street will have restricted vehicular access until the end of June 2016.

The temporary disruptions are necessary as Council undertakes a major reconstruction of Bendooley Street between Bundaroo and Boolwey Streets.

This work involves replacing the old water main, constructing a new roundabout at the intersection of Wingecarribee and Bendooley Streets and reconstructing the road surface of Bendooley Street.

The first stage of the project involves excavating the old water main and replacing it with new 200mm pipework.  At the same time the water main will be re-aligned providing a more direct, efficient and reliable water supply.

Construction of new kerb and guttering is anticipated to commence from Monday 23 May.

Affected property owners have been notified of the works and restricted access will be made available to these residents.

Traffic controllers will be on duty for the duration of the works however motorists may experience minor delays.  Existing bus schedules will be unaffected.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.

Weather permitting, all work is expected to be completed by the end of June 2016.
