Planned water disruption – Willow Vale & surrounds

28 February, 2017

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that essential works on the water main in Willow Vale are scheduled to take place on the evening of Wednesday 1 March 2017.

To enable staff to quickly and safely carry out the maintenance works a temporary shutdown of the local water supply is necessary.

This planned shutdown of the water supply will commence at 10pm on Wednesday 1 March.  Weather permitting the water is anticipated to be restored by 5am the following morning.

During this time some residents may experience a loss of water supply or noticeable loss of water pressure.

Areas that may be affected include residential properties in Willow Vale, Alpine, southern areas of Colo Vale and properties within the Braemar industrial area.

Council advises customers not to use any water appliances during the planned shutdown and to keep taps closed.

Once reconnected, customers are advised to slowly open a cold water tap to allow any trapped air to escape.

It is normal for water to be discoloured following a major shutdown and if so, customers are advised to run the cold water tap for a few moments until the discolouration dissipates.

Council apologises for the temporary disruption and inconvenience.
