Planned shutdown of water supply from Blakes Hill, Moss Vale

22 March, 2012

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that it will be conducting essential upgrades to the Blakes Hill water reservoir in Moss Vale on the morning of Tuesday 27 March.

The temporary disruption is necessary in order for staff to install pressure management equipment designed to regulate and monitor future flows.

Residents in Moss Vale, particularly in the immediate vicinity of the Blakes Hill reservoir, may experience temporary discolouration of water, excess air in the water (distinguished by a ‘cloudy’ or ‘milky’ appearance), lack of water pressure or temporary loss of supply.

This work is scheduled to begin at 8.00am and take approximately four hours to complete.

Once water supply is returned, it is recommended a cold water tap is slowly turned on to allow any trapped air to escape.

If the water is discoloured on reconnection, run the tap at full flow until cleared.

Care should be taken to ensure hot water heaters and washing machines are NOT used and taps are turned off during this scheduled interruption of water supply.

Council apologises for any inconvenience.
