Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as part of its infrastructure improvement program, kerb, guttering and footpath construction will be carried out on Main Street in Mittagong startingMonday 8 August.
The works will take place on the northern side of Main Street (Old Hume Highway) between Pioneer and Bessemer Streets, Mittagong.
In addition, storm water drainage will also be constructed at the intersection of Pioneer and Main Streets.
Weather permitting, the work should be completed by the end of September 2011.
Changed Traffic Conditions:
Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions (one lane of Pioneer Street may at times be closed to traffic), exercise care when travelling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones, traffic barriers and heavy machinery within the work areas.
Traffic controllers will be onsite to manage traffic during the works with speed restrictions enforceable during the construction period.
Construction hours will be 7.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
During the works motorists may experience short delays.
Council asks the public to exercise patience during this period and will make every effort to minimise disruptions.
