Kerb, gutter & drainage works for Sheffield Rd

20 December, 2016

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that kerb, gutter and drainage construction works are scheduled to commence on Sheffield Road, Bowral from Monday 30 January 2017.

During construction sections of the road may be temporarily reduced to one-way traffic however the road will remain open to immediate residents and through traffic.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Prior to the commencement of works, three Liquid Amber (Liquidamber styraciflua) trees located on Sheffield Road will unfortunately require removal.  Inspections of these trees have revealed poor structural integrity and decay.

As per Council’s Street Tree Master Plan and in-line with the existing street trees of the area, these trees will be replaced with Scarlet Oak (Quercus coccinea) specimens.

Emergency services, hospitals, schools and transport providers have all been notified of the pending works.

Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.

The project is scheduled to be completed by late February 2017.  All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
