Installation of traffic guard rail, Woodlands

3 May, 2017

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that road shoulder works including the installation of new safety guard rails are scheduled to be undertaken along the Old Hume Highway in Woodlands from Wednesday 3 May.

Work will include removing the old roadside guard rails, widening the existing road shoulder and installing new guard rails.  A small number of woody trees will also require removal to allow the installation of the new guard rails.

The work is part of Council’s regular capital works program and will involve the remediation of a 300 metre stretch of the Old Hume Highway immediately south of the M31 bridge in Woodlands.

While traffic will be managed during daylight hours by traffic controllers, road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stone and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

The project is scheduled to be completed by late May 2017.  All time frames are subject to weather conditions.
