Greenhills Road Reopened

12 June, 2012

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that Greenhills Road, Berrima has been reopened following the construction of a new concrete bridge at Cordeaux Creek.

The road was closed from Monday 30 April 2012 to allow Council crews to demolish the old timber bridge, install the new precast concrete bridge and reconstruct the bridge approaches.

While the new bridge is now open to traffic, motorists are advised to use caution as there are still barriers in place. The bridge width is currently restricted to one lane, with a temporary Give Way sign installed on the Berrima side and a 40km/h speed limit until further notice.

Council anticipates that a new guard rail will be installed at the end of July.

The bridge replacement was funded from the Infrastructure Recovery Strategy (IRS).
