Exeter Road reconstruction works

18 May, 2021

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that road works are scheduled to commence on Exeter Road in Sutton Forest from Monday 17 May 2021.

The works will be carried out over an 820-metre section of Exeter Road between the Illawarra Highway and Nicholson Street.

Works will include the construction of new stormwater drainage, kerb and gutter renewals and the reconstruction of the road pavement.

Construction works will be completed in two stages to minimise disruption to road users and neighbouring properties.

  • Stage 1: Involves the construction of stormwater drainage pipes and pits, road pavement reconstruction including kerbing and guttering along a 75-metre section of Exeter Road from the Illawarra Hwy,
  • Stage 2 – Involves continuing stormwater drainage upgrades and road pavement reconstruction along the remainder of the route to Nicholson Street.

Stage one of the works are scheduled to be complete by the end of June with stage two to commence shortly thereafter in July 2021.

Construction activities will be carried out between 7.00am and 5.00pm weekdays.

During construction, sections of the road may be temporarily reduced to one-way traffic. The road will remain open to through traffic with property access to be maintained.  Road pavement works may require temporary road closures with detours in place.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council thanks residents and motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.

Works are expected to be completed by the end of August 2021.  All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
