Diamond Fields Road works
Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that construction is set to commence on a temporary side track around the existing timber bridge on Diamond Fields Road in Mittagong from Tuesday 4 September 2018.
Works will include the installation of a temporary culvert and diversion track to cross the creek, erection of new safety signage and line marking, minor tree removals and pruning.
The temporary side track will allow all legally loaded vehicles (in excess of the current load limit) to access Diamond Fields Road.
The temporary side track for heavy vehicles will remain in place until the timber bridge is replaced.
Construction activities for the temporary side track will be carried out between 7.00am and 6.00pm weekdays.
During construction sections of the road may be temporarily reduced to one-way traffic however the road will remain open to through traffic.
Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.
Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.
Works are expected to be completed by late September 2018. All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
