Construction of pedestrian refuge – Bowral Street, Bowral

7 April, 2017

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that two pedestrian refuges will be constructed in Bowral Street, Bowral.

Construction will take place in front of the Bowral District Hospital and involves the forming of concrete slabs, pram ramps and footpath.

The removal of two Crab Apples Trees in poor condition and pruning of immediate shrubbery is also necessary to accommodate the construction.

Works are scheduled to start on Monday 10 April 2017.

During construction, sections of the road in the immediate vicinity of the works may be temporarily reduced to one-way traffic.  The road will however remain open to residents and through traffic.

Adjacent residents may at times be asked to avoid parking in the immediate on-street work zone.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.

The project is scheduled to be completed by 31 May 2017.  All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
