Changed traffic conditions – Bowral

21 May, 2014

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as a result of the commencement of the next stage of construction works on Bowral’s Merrigang Street reconstruction project, Una Street will be temporarily closed at the intersection with Merrigang Street from Thursday 22 May to Saturday 31 May 2014.

The closure will allow work crews to safely install stormwater drainage pipes along the southern side of Merrigang Street and across the intersection.

Traffic will be re-directed via Shepherd and Holly Streets during this temporary closure.

In addition, starting this week, traffic along Merrigang Street between Mittagong Rivulet and Rose Streets will be reduced to one lane during construction hours. Traffic controllers will be onsite during this two-week disruption. Minor delays are expected.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose gravel and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

Weather permitting, Merrigang Street’s reconstruction is anticipated to be complete by mid-August 2014.
