Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking assistance from the public to help find a wrought iron sign housed on site at the former Mittagong Bowling Club.

“The Albert Bruce Memorial Green sign was erected alongside the bowling greens and has since gone missing,” said Mark Pepping, Council’s Group Manager Strategic and Assets.

“It would appear that the wrought iron sign has been intentionally cut and removed from the site,” Mr Pepping said.

“It could well be an innocent gesture as someone may have decided to care for the sign whilst the site lay idle,” Mr Pepping said. “However, the sign has considerable sentimental significance and we’d dearly love to retrieve it and reuse it within the refurbished Alexandra Square site.”

Anyone with knowledge as to the whereabouts of the Albert Bruce Memorial Green sign, formerly located at the Mittagong Bowling Club at 6 Alice Street in Mittagong, is urged to contact Council on phone 4868 0888.
