The Shire’s youth are being invited to attend the inaugural REP RESENT Regional Youth Forum to be held at The Australian Botanic Gardens at Mount Annan next Tuesday the 17 April from 10am to 3pm.

The event is being staged as part of Youth Week and is an opportunity for the region’s youth to join their regional counterparts and help develop strategies to address local youth needs.

The event is a follow up to recommendations made by the Wingecarribee and Macarthur regions Youth Advisory Forum which was held last October.

“The day is an opportunity for young people from the Southern Highlands to have their voices heard at a regional level,” said Council’s Youth Liaison Facilitator, Michelle Williams.

“It’s particularly exciting that as part of this event, young people will be able to have conversations that will determine priorities and actions that will affect them in our very own Shire.”

The event is being organised in partnership with Camden Council, Campbelltown City Council, Wollondilly Shire Council, Wingecarribee Shire Council, Youth Solutions, Macarthur Diversity Services Initiative (MDSI) and the Uniting Care Burnside and their Youth Advisory Groups.

Young people aged 12 to 24 who live in the Wingecarribee Shire wanting to participate are urged to contact Jodie Dench on 4645 5021 or email: youth@camden.nsw.gov.au to attend.

RSVP is essential and parental consent is required.
