Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling all residents to join them for the official opening of the Moss Vale War Memorial Aquatic Centre this Saturday.

Wingecarribee Shire Mayor, Councillor Juliet Arkwright urged everyone to join in the opening celebrations.

“As of this weekend, residents will no longer have to travel outside of our Shire to access a first-class year round swimming facility offering vital learn to swim classes, exercise, leisure and general health and well-being services,” she said.

Located directly behind Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre, the facility features a heated eight lane 25 metre swimming pool, warm water exercise pool, water play area, gymnasium, club and party room, kiosk and wet and dry amenities.

The official program, including Aboriginal Welcoming Ceremony and ribbon cutting, will commence from 10am.

“I encourage everyone to join in the fun,” Councillor Arkwright said. “Grown-ups can partake in a fitness class or check out the facilities, the kids can join in some novelty pool events and of course there will be a special opening cake for everyone to enjoy.”
