Mayor calls for NSW/ACT Award nominations

Wingecarribee Shire Mayor, Councillor Ken Halstead is calling for local nominations as part of this year’s NSW/ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards.

Mayor Halstead said the awards provided an opportunity for community groups, businesses and individuals to be recognised and acknowledged for a job well done.

“These awards are designed to encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions individuals, communities and businesses are making throughout regional and rural NSW and the ACT,” he said.

“The awards are intended to celebrate those people who are committed to making regional and rural areas, including the Southern Highlands, a better place to live.”

Nominations are open across nine categories:

  • Business Achievement Award,
  • Women Creating Change Award
  • Connecting Communities Award
  • Community Manager Award
  • Corporate Manager Award
  • Agricultural Innovation Award
  • Employer Excellence in Aged Care Award
  • Customer Service Award
  • Leadership Award

Prizes include $2,000 in prize money and television exposure courtesy of PRIME7.

“I encourage all residents to nominate anyone they may know who has impressed them with their community spirit or leadership.”
