Hundreds of shoppers in search of a bargain at Wingecarribee Shire Council’s annual May Day Auction have made Saturday’s event the most successful to date.

Held on the morning of Saturday the 28 May at Council’s Reviva Centre, eager bargain hunters quickly snapped up the many antiques and collectibles on offer.

“Without a doubt this year’s auction was our most successful to date,” said Council’s Reviva Centre Team Leader Vicki Schaefer after the auction.

“We had fabulous support from locals and visitors who were able to bid on over 200 hundred assorted antiques, collectibles, old wares, vintage dolls, toys and books.”

“In addition to the auction, visitors also helped to raise several hundreds of dollars for the Animal Shelter via the gold coin donation barbeque,” she said.

In addition to thanking participants at this year’s auction, Vicki was quick to praise the team behind the event.

“Apart from our own Resource Recovery Centre staff, we again had fabulous support from the SES, volunteers and our auctioneer Geoff Spears.”

“Whilst some great items went under the hammer on Saturday, bargains can still be found most days at the Reviva Centre,” Vicki added.

Council’s Reviva facility is located within Council’s Resource Recovery Centre on Berrima Road, Moss Vale.

The Reviva Centre is open Wednesday, Thursday,  Friday and Saturday from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

The centre stocks a wide range of goods including electrical appliances, furniture, mowers, computer packages, laptops, IT accessories, clothing, bric-a-brac and hardware.

Building and landscaping materials including mulch, decorative gravel and railway sleepers are also available.
