Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Library Services team are inviting students preparing for their year 12 exams to join them for a study option with a difference.

The program will allow HSC students to access the Henrietta Rose Room for studying purposes between 9am and 5pm from Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 October 2019.

Council’s Coordinator of Library Services Andrew White said this is an opportunity for students to mix up their study routine.

“Libraries have always been a perfect setting for study,” he said.  “Some students find that they need some time out from interruptions when studying at home, while others find that the group study environment helps them to focus.”

Mr White said students taking part in this year’s program could expect a welcome distraction.

“We all know that final exams can be a bit nerve-racking,” he said.  “So this year we’ve invited some special four-legged friends to visit students courtesy of Council’s Youth Program and PAWS Pet Therapy in an attempt to reduce some of the stress.”

The therapy dogs will visit the Library and the Henrietta Rose Room on each of the three HSC Study Days and are available to anyone who would like to take a short break from their study.

Council’s Pause 4 Paws HSC study days are free to attend however, bookings are essential.  For more information visit Council’s website at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/events.

Students wishing to attend can contact the Library team in advance on 1300 266 235 to request specific study resources or books needed for the day.

The Henrietta Rose Room is located at the rear of the Old Town Hall and is adjacent to Bowral Library at 16-24 Bendooley Street in Bowral.

Wingecarribee Public Libraries host a number of regular study events for students throughout the year including seminars hosted by teaching professionals. Council’s libraries are also home to dedicated student resources and a section devoted to young people which can be found at www.library.wsc.nsw.gov.au.
