If you have a big idea for ways to improve the quality of life for our community’s most vulnerable, the Wingecarribee Club GRANTS scheme could help you to get it off the ground. Now is the time for local not-for-profit community groups to put their applications in for funding under the scheme.

Eligible community projects include welfare and social services, community development, health services, employment assistance activities, and other initiatives that will contribute to better living standards for low income-earners and disadvantaged people across our Shire.

ClubGRANTS an initiative of the NSW Government and Clubs NSW to provide funding for community development projects and services that have a direct impact on community members. Registered clubs who earn $1 million or more in gaming machine profit each year are taxed through the scheme.

Mittagong RSL General Manager, Craig Madsen, explains; “ClubGRANTS is designed to ensure larger registered clubs in NSW contribute to the provision of front-line services to their local communities, and to ensure that the disadvantaged in the community are better positioned to benefit from the substantial contributions made by those clubs.”

Wingecarribee Shire Council (WSC) is the convenor of Category 1 ClubGRANTS in the Wingecarribee area. “Council collaborates with many local community groups on a wide range of projects that aim to keep their community connected and contribute to making their township or village an even better place to live,” says WSC Coordinator Community Development, Corinne Buxton. “We’re looking forward to seeing more of their ideas take shape through ClubGRANTS as we work together to support those in our community who need it most.”

As a guide, applications should have a strong focus on residents of our Shire and be able to deliver sustainable outcomes. Priorities for funding should target older people, young people, children, or persons experiencing social disadvantage.

Your organisation must be registered as not-for-profit to qualify for ClubGRANTS funding and only projects which will directly benefit residents of Wingecarribee Shire will be considered.

Get your application in no later than Monday 17 July, 2023.
