Wingecarribee Shire Council is encouraging music lovers to attend the final ‘Plugged-In the Plaza’ outdoor concert for the summer this Friday 22 February.

Council’s Youth Liaison Facilitator, Michelle Williams said the event was an opportunity for locals to witness some of our Shire’s brightest rising stars.

“On show will be six great young acts that will be showcasing their talents – for free – this coming Friday in Bowral’s Corbett Plaza,” she said.

“We’ve got a variety of local young talent secured for the evening with something that’s sure to appeal to everyone including solo acts, duets and a band,” she said

The line up for the evening includes:

  • Nyssa Bunyan
  • Patrick Newton
  • Joe, Joe and Sal
  • Michael Ackroyd
  • Laura Beasant, and
  • Compass

The final Plugged-In The Plaza concert for the 2012-13 summer season comes after previous successful concerts in November and December.

“The feedback from both patrons and artists at our first two gigs was extremely positive,” Michelle said. “I encourage everyone to come out and support our local youth and witness some truly gifted musicians at this final concert for the season.”

“Apart from showcasing some of our Shire’s amazing talent, these types of events are also an opportunity for our young artists to get a taste of what may be their first live audience,” Michelle added.

“And if we get the public’s continued support for these types of concerts and we can build on their popularity, hopefully we can bring them back next summer and make them an annual event.”

The next Plugged-In the Plaza concert is scheduled to be held in Corbett Plaza, Bowral on Friday 22 February from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
