Due to the warm weather and high demand, Wingecarribee Shire Council has announced extended opening hours for Mittagong and Bowral Swimming Centres for the remainder of the school holidays.

Both pools will remain open until 7pm every day until 28 January, with the exception of Friday evenings at Bowral Pool due to Moss Vale Swim Club and only the 25 metre pool will be available on Monday and Thursday evenings at Mittagong Pool during water polo.

The amended operating hours are as follows:

Bowral Pool
Monday – Thursday: 6am – 7pm
Friday: 6am – 6pm
Saturday and Sunday: 10am – 7pm

Mittagong Pool
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 6am – 7pm
Monday, Thursday: 6am – 7pm (only the 25 metre pool will be available from 5.30pm on Mondays and 6pm on Thursdays).
Saturday and Sunday: 10am – 7pm

There’s plenty happening at the pools this summer, with the Whale Tail inflatable toy set to do the rounds later in the season and the annual Dive-In youth summer film screening at Bowral Pool on Saturday 19 January.

Presented in conjunction with the Highlands Youth Centre, this year’s Dive-In celebrations will include two feature presentations. Happy Feet 2 (rated G) kicks off the fun for the juniors and families at 7.00pm whilst teenagers can be scared silly by the Australian croc movie Rogue (rated M) from 8.50pm to 10.30pm.

Entry is $5 per person and includes a sausage sizzle and a can of drink. Kiosk facilities will also be available. Dive-In is a drug and alcohol free event and will be supervised by Council’s Youth Liaison Facilitator and pool attendees.
