Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from Studios and Artists to participate in the 2012 Southern Highlands Art Studio Trail.

The Art Studio Trail will run across the Shire during the first two weekends of November as part of Arts Time.

During Arts Time, which runs through the month of November, visitors will be invited to experience a diverse range of arts experiences in the Southern Highlands including open galleries, exhibitions, workshops and music.

Last year studios involved in the scheme averaged more than 100 visits during the program.

All participating studios will be required to open on both weekends and participating artists and studios must be located in the Wingecarribee Shire.

“The Art Studio Trail gives the public a rare opportunity to meet the makers, to see their work in the environment within which it was created and to buy direct from the studio door,” said Council’s Cultural Development Officer, Jenny Kena.

The 2012 Southern Highlands Art Studio Trail will run over the weekend of the 3 and 4 of November and again the following weekend of the 10 and 11 November.

To submit an Expression of Interest visit www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/services/community/arts-culture/southern-highlands-art-studio-trail.

For further information contact Council’s Cultural Development Officer on 4868 0855.

Expressions of Interest must be received by Monday 30 April 2012.

The Southern Highlands Art Studio Trail is a Wingecarribee Shire Council initiative organised in consultation with participating artists.

The Art Studio Trail is presented in partnership with Tourism Southern Highlands and supported by Southern Tablelands Arts (STARTS).
