Keen readers across the Shire can now access their favourite magazines online via the introduction of the Zinio eMagazines app at Council’s libraries.

Available through the Library website, customers can now download digital magazines direct to their e-readers and internet compatible mobile devices wherever they may be.

Council’s Coordinator Library Services Sandra Croker, said the new service would allow readers immediate access to their favourite titles.

“This service allows Council’s library patrons to download their favourite magazines on the go,” she said.

“No longer do they have to make the trip to the library to get some of the most popular international issues.”

Zinio eMagazines can also be downloaded and stored with the Zinio app so that eMagazines can be viewed when a device is not connected to the Internet.

Council’s initial range includes Architecture Australia, Backyard and Garden Design Ideas, The Economist and Harper’s Bazaar with more titles to be introduced.

“The impressive feature about the Zinio eMagazines is that it digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full colour pictures,” Ms Croker said. “Other features include intuitive navigation, key word article search and interactive elements such as audio and video.”

The introduction of the Zinio eMagazines app follows Council’s successful introduction of a comprehensive range of eBook titles last year.
