Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking comment from the community after councillors tonight endorsed the draft 2016-17 Operational Plan and Budget including Revenue Policy and Fees and Charges which go on public exhibition next week.

The draft documents represent Council’s response to public input gathered from Wingecarribee 2031+, Council’s long-term community strategic plan for the Southern Highlands.

Wingecarribee Shire Council’s General Manager Ann Prendergast, said the documents were an opportunity for residents to comment on Council’s immediate program of works and future agenda.

“Together, these documents foreshadow our upcoming works and help us to allocate the financial, physical and human resources to meet these projects,” Ms Prendergast said.

“In brief, they help detail both our immediate goals and the funding priorities we will commit to over the next twelve months and help provide a blueprint for our future program of works.”

Key focal points of this year’s document include strengthening Council operations, improving efficiencies and investing in asset renewals.

The draft documents will be on exhibition from Monday 18 April until Sunday 15 May 2016.

The documents can be viewed online at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au and www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au or at Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre and at Council’s libraries.

Feedback and submissions must be made by midnight 15 May 2016 via:

“We invite all of our residents to provide us with feedback, because ultimately, these documents help to set the future agenda of our Shire,” Ms Prendergast added.
