 ,

Demolition crews have this week begun work on the first stage of transforming the existing Moss Vale Pool into the Moss Vale Indoor Aquatic Centre.

The pre-construction activities signal the start of the multi-million project which will provide the Shire’s residents with a year round covered swimming facility.

Weather permitting, the demolition crews are expected to remain on site until mid-September.

The demolition work follows Council compliance with the NSW Government’s Joint Regional Planning Panels (JRPP) deferred commencement conditions.

Once all the existing amenities on the site have been leveled and the bulk earthworks completed, the initial infrastructure components – including foundation piering – will commence.

The demolition works follow the announcement of the first stage of successful tenders totaling $1.14 million. The tenders awarded were for initial structural steel work, electrical and hydraulic (plumbing) services.

Residents wanting more information on the construction are encouraged to contact Council on phone 4868 0888 or follow progress online at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au.
