Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking comment from the community after councillors endorsed the public exhibition of the draft Operational Plan and Budget at the last Council Meeting.

The draft Integrated Planning and Reporting documents provide information on Council’s key services, projects, programs and budget for the next financial year. Also included are proposed fees and charges for the year ahead.

The draft documents are on public exhibition from Monday 29 April to Monday 27 May 2019.

Wingecarribee Shire Council General Manager Ann Prendergast said the documents were an opportunity for residents to comment on Council’s immediate program of works.

“This year’s program of works contains some of the largest infrastructure construction and upgrade projects ever proposed for our Shire,” she said. “These infrastructure upgrades are essential if we’re to accommodate the growing demands of our Shire’s towns and villages.”

Included in the infrastructure construction and improvement program is the upgrade of Bowral and Moss Vale Sewage Treatments Plants, improvements to Wombeyan Caves Road and more than a dozen road, drainage and footpath construction activities.

Other key projects include preliminary works on the detailed design of a multi-million dollar Regional Sports Hub in Moss Vale and a funding strategy for a five-year financial commitment to the operation of a Regional Art Gallery in Bowral.

“I encourage all interested residents to review these documents and comment on our proposed program of works before the close of the exhibition period,” said Ms Prendergast.

The documents can be viewed online at www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au or at Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre and at Council’s libraries.

Feedback and submissions can be made via:

PO Box 141

Submissions and feedback close at midnight on Monday 27 May 2019.

Following the close of the exhibition period, a final report considering submissions will be presented to Council.
