Eligible residents across the Shire will soon be able to take advantage of a Bulk Waste Kerbside Collection Service following a decision of Council.

The Interim Administrator adopted a recommendation that will see Council introduce an annual Bulk Waste Kerbside Collection Service covering 19,500 properties across the Shire starting early next year.

All existing property owners who currently have a residential garbage collection service will be able to take advantage of the new bulk waste collection service.

It will be particularly convenient to those residents who find access to Council’s Moss Vale Resource Recovery Centre difficult.

Following a decision by the Interim Administrator, funding for the new service will be free of charge in 2022 as costs will be absorbed by Council.  An annual levy will be applied to eligible ratepayers following the introductory year to cover the cost of the service.

Collections will be increased to a bi-annual service after July 2024.

“The introduction of this waste service demonstrates Council’s renewed focus on improved customer service,” said Council’s Interim Administrator Mr Viv May.

“Residents will be notified by letter at least two weeks before the service and a collection calendar will made available on Council’s website.”

The bulk waste kerbside collection will replace Council’s current bi-annual pre-paid collection service.
