Wingecarribee Shire Council is inviting members of the community to attend a public presentation from the Southern Highlands Coal Action Group (SHCAG) on their recent groundwater study.

The SHCAG commissioned study looks at the groundwater system that lies beneath the Southern Highlands and assesses the potential impact coal mining and coal exploration may have upon our region.

The study was undertaken by hydrogeology consultants Pells Consulting and Mr John Lee from Hydroilex. Both Dr Phillip Pells and Mr John Lee will be on hand to answer questions following the presentation.

The presentation follows a resolution from last month’s Extraordinary Meeting where Councillors voted to invite SHCAG to make a public presentation of their study.

The Southern Highlands Coal Action Group Groundwater Study presentation will be held on Tuesday 15 April from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Moss Vale Services Club.

Advance tickets are required for the evening and attendees are encouraged to register for the event online at www.wscgroundwater.eventbrite.com.au where they can print out their ticket required for the event.

Guests are advised to arrive before 5.45pm to present their ticket and take their seats.

Entry is free but bookings are essential due to limited seating.

For more information about registering for the event, contact Wingecarribee Shire Council on phone 4868 0888.

The evening will be hosted by Council staff.
